talkSPORT

Live sports commentary, pundit debates, and immediate post-match reactions define the daily schedule of this London-based national network. Listeners tune into AM frequencies 1089 kHz and 1053 kHz, as well as DAB channels across the United Kingdom, to access 24-hour sports coverage. The programming format prioritizes association football, holding major audio rights for hundreds of English top-flight and FA Cup fixtures each season.

During weekday mornings, shows featuring former athletes such as Alan Brazil and Tony Cascarino dissect the latest headlines, transfer rumors, and managerial changes. The schedule incorporates interactive phone-in segments, allowing fans to debate weekend results alongside professional journalists. Weekend programming shifts focus entirely to live match coverage, integrating pre-game previews and real-time commentary from stadiums nationwide.

Originally established in 1995 as a general talk outlet, the station underwent a complete transition in January 2000 to concentrate exclusively on sports. It maintains a primary focus on British football, while also providing analysis of international cricket, rugby union, and professional boxing events.
