talkRADIO

Across the United Kingdom, a prominent national talk radio station provides extensive coverage of news and current events. Broadcasting primarily on DAB+ via the Sound Digital multiplex (11A), the station launched in its current incarnation on March 21, 2016, following an earlier iteration as Talk Radio UK in 1995. It is owned by News Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News UK, a media group that acquired its parent company, Wireless Group, in September 2016. The programming schedule features live political discussions, opinion analysis, and telephone interviews with presenters such as Julia Hartley-Brewer, Jeremy Kyle, and Mike Graham. For a period between April 2022 and April 2024, the station notably simulcast its output with TalkTV before reverting to a radio-focused schedule, complemented by an online video stream of its broadcasts. The station aims to offer engaging speech-based content, distinct from music programming. Its official digital presence can be found at talk.tv.
