BAYERN 3

Broadcasting across Bavaria on 42 FM frequencies and via DAB+ on channel 11D, BAYERN 3 launched on April 1, 1971. Initially conceived as Germany's first dedicated service wave, its early programming focused heavily on essential information such as traffic updates, weather forecasts, and other public service announcements. Today, the station, operated by the public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk, primarily offers a lively mix of current pop, rock, and top 40 hits.

Beyond its music selection, BAYERN 3 integrates talk formats and comprehensive news segments, targeting a core target audience of 14-49-year-olds. The station is noted for its morning show, "Die Bayern 3 Frühaufdreher," and actively engages its community through various events, including the Bayern 3 Party Ship and the Bayern 3 POP-Up Festival. It reaches over 2.2 million daily listeners and is also accessible in South Tyrol via DAB+.
