CouchFM

Berlin acts as the urban laboratory for this student-run production, which focuses on providing a platform for young voices and alternative music culture. CouchFM originates from the campus environment of the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin, prioritizing independent journalism and curated playlists that deviate from commercial radio standards. Programs frequently investigate local cultural phenomena, campus life, and social issues relevant to the metropolitan youth demographic. The editorial team operates with a commitment to experimental formats, allowing presenters to develop specialized series that often explore niche electronic subgenres or socio-political topics. Through couchfm.org, the organization provides access to on-demand archives of previous broadcasts, enabling listeners to engage with past investigative segments. This institutional project emphasizes the development of media skills among students while maintaining a continuous digital presence.
