TNL Radio

An energetic soundtrack for city life in Colombo unfurls across the airwaves, offering listeners a dynamic blend of music and entertainment. TNL Radio, launched on July 23, 1993, holds the distinction of being Sri Lanka's first private radio station, breaking ground in a previously state-dominated broadcasting landscape. The station primarily broadcasts in English on frequencies 99.2 MHz and 101.8 MHz, targeting an audience aged 18 to 35 with a vibrant contemporary hit radio (CHR) and alternative music format. Its programming extends beyond music to include entertainment news and engaging talk segments, featuring distinctive and energetic radio personalities who contribute to its lively morning show. TNL Radio has been a pioneer in many aspects, including being among the first in Asia to stream its programming live online. The station is also recognized for its commitment to local talent, notably through its TNL Onstage competition, which began in 1999.
