SRF Virus

Digital-first audio programming defines this Swiss public radio entity, which focuses on alternative music, independent releases, and youth-oriented culture. Operated by the Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF), the broadcaster migrated from a terrestrial FM presence to an exclusively digital distribution model in 2020. Its programming block emphasizes electronic, indie rock, and hip-hop tracks from both local Swiss artists and international musicians. The station maintains a commitment to music discovery through daily broadcast slots that prioritize non-commercial tracks over chart-topping hits. Users access the signal through the official virus.ch domain and various digital audio platforms. Editorial output includes specialized segments focusing on subcultural trends and interviews with emerging talent. This shift toward digital transmission allows for uninterrupted streaming content across the entire country.
