Oregon Public Broadcasting

Public media programming defines the broadcast schedule across this network, which maintains an extensive footprint throughout Oregon and parts of Washington. The organization produces original investigative reporting and long-form podcasts in addition to airing national NPR news and cultural segments. Operations span multiple regional transmitters, including KOPB-FM in Portland and KOPN in Bend, which collectively provide coverage to diverse urban and rural populations.

Listener support remains the primary financial foundation for this non-profit entity, allowing for commercial-free distribution of educational and current affairs content. The station maintains its administrative headquarters in Portland, where it coordinates statewide news gathering and digital archive management. Programming schedules often prioritize environmental, political, and social issues specific to the Pacific Northwest region. Technical infrastructure includes a statewide microwave and satellite network that links various local stations into a unified public media group accessible via opb.org.
