George FM

Electronic dance music and youth culture define the output of this national broadcaster, which operates as part of the MediaWorks radio network. Listeners across major urban centers, including Auckland on 96.8 FM, Christchurch on 94.5 FM, and Wellington on 88.5 FM, access specialized programming focused on house, drum and bass, and electronic subgenres. The station distinguishes itself through a dedicated focus on the New Zealand DJ scene and local underground producers, distinguishing its playlist from mainstream commercial outlets.

Programming schedules frequently feature breakfast shows and weekend mixes that prioritize high-energy beats rather than talk-heavy segments. Beyond its terrestrial reach, the broadcaster maintains a digital presence via the rova.nz domain. It has expanded its footprint to reach key markets such as Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Queenstown, establishing a specific acoustic identity for fans of club-oriented soundscapes. Production teams often collaborate with festival organizers to broadcast live sets from electronic music events across the country.
