Decibel

Re-establishing its presence in the Dutch radio landscape, Decibel began its commercial broadcasting chapter in Amsterdam on March 1, 2007. Initially securing an exploitation agreement for the former Magic FM frequency, the station quickly expanded its footprint across the Randstad region by 2009. Dedicated to reviving the sounds of a defining era, its programming primarily features 90s hits, complemented by popular tracks from the 2000s and contemporary chart-toppers. This blend of nostalgic anthems and current music caters to a wide audience seeking a vibrant listening experience. Decibel, known for its slogan "De 90's zijn van ons!" (The 90's are ours!), has historically been accessible on various FM frequencies, including 98.0 FM in Amsterdam and 98.3 FM in Alkmaar, and also via DAB+ in the Randstad. While its FM and DAB+ transmissions ceased in early 2024, the station remains a prominent online location for Dutch pop, electronic, and dance music. Through its digital platforms, Decibel continues to connect listeners with a curated selection of tunes that capture the essence of its core musical identity.
